We offer transfer services of many types of videotape to DVD video (see list below). Your home movie DVD will have thumbnail chapter marks every 5 minutes that will let you access those precious memories quickly, without the hassle of fast forwarding endlessly.

If it is a Digital 8 tape or 4mm minicam, the data is directly transferred to DVD. In the case of Hi-8 or 8mm tapes, the data is first converted to digital format. The audio is sampled at 16-bit rate for high fidelity. One DVD can hold approximately 1 1/2 hours of video. Typically one to two 60 minute Hi8 tape recorded in SP format will be copied to one DVD. The final cost will vary based on how many minutes are on the tape and the number of DVDs required copying all the video.

What is Timebase correction?
When recording a video to an analog tape, due to the fact that the tape motors cannot rotate at a precisely constant speed, causes what is called as time distortion. Especially since video signal distortions are easily perceived compared to audio distortions, color intensities of video being watched may very significantly. This is especially true when you see the video on better TV screens available today.

Our conversion process uses what is called a TBC, timebase correction, where the video is buffered and release with correct audio and video synchronization at a constant rate resulting in higher quality.
